Personal Care Attendant & In-Home Respite Care Coordinator
The responsibilities of the Personal Care Attendant are categorized into Personal Care Services and Light Housekeeping tasks that is followed under the Provider Service Plan. A Personal Care Attendant may perform both personal care and home management that may include, but is not limited to:
Personal Care Services: Mouth and Denture care, Shaving, Grooming hair, Bathing, Dressing, Toileting, Reminds client to take medication, Eating, Transferring or Repositioning client’s body position, Ambulation
Light Housekeeping: Assures that rooms are clean and in order, Prepares shopping lists, Purchases and stores groceries, Prepares and serves meals, Laundering, Ironing, Sweeping, Mopping, and Dusting, Run errands, Changes linen and makes bed, Cleans Kitchen
In-Home Respite Care Coordinator Service is non-medical care and supervision provided to the client in the absence of the client’s primary caregiver on a short-term basis. In-Home Respite Services are to assist the care giver as temporary, scheduled relief to the caregiver to prevent delay, burnout, or avoid premature institutionalization of the client. An In-Home Respite Care Coordinator provides one or more of the following primary activities:
Companionship, Support or General Supervision, Feeding, Personal Care Needs (The provision of these services do not entail hands-on nursing care. Any assistance with activities of daily living are incidental to the care of the individual.)
